Frank Martin Mysteries

A Different Kind of Detective

Frank Martin never intended to be a detective. A widower, retired pastor, and former police chaplain, Frank is overwhelmed with the loss of his wife. He suffers recurring bouts of depression that nearly drive him to suicide. Yet God can use a broken vessel. Although Frank is very broken, he finds ways to survive and prevail.

Frank Martin Mysteries are set in the 1980s, before computers, websites, social media, and cell phones took over. He solves mysteries and dilemmas by detection, deduction, and an insatiable thirst for investigation. He must overcome his own fears and weaknesses, sometimes with the help of his departed wife, Elaine - or more precisely, what Frank interprets as Elaine.

Frank Martin Mysteries probe the deep-seated, private struggles of God's people in the context of riviting mysteries. The stories are written with the background and understanding of law enforcement. Each novel is a collage of actual cases and events taken from personal experience. The novels are as real as life can make them.

Be drawn into the unintended experiences of an older, ordinary gentleman and genuine Christian, who finds himself in unexpected, heart-pounding circumstances.

MYSTERIES TO COME

I'm already at work on the next Frank Martin Mystery, Do Not Sin Against the Child. Frank stumbles upon possible child abuse. He wants to rescue the child from a sinister mother, but there's a catch - she's a cop.
